Begin the journey of Financial Self-Care!
Financial Self-Care is designed to grow your financial mindfulness and break the paycheck to paycheck cycle forever.
You can watch the Video (click the coffee cup ) OR you can scroll through and read at your own pace. Either way remember to fill out the Mindfulness Meditations and click “Submit” to build chronicle your journey. At the end of the micro course, you will be able to read through them all and see how far you’ve come!
Mindfulness Meditation 1:
Find a quiet space. Sometimes, this is hard! It takes intentionality and maybe even creativity, depending on your season of life and household. Carve out time early, but make sure to shove aside notifications, turn off the noise, and get quiet.
Ready and quiet now? Perfect!
Today, reflect on a time or event in your younger years that impacted you positively in the area of money.
Maybe it was your first job when you were paid for hard work.
Perhaps, it was seeing the results of starting a small lemonade stand, lawn mowing, or doing odd jobs for a neighbor.
Remember the feeling of strength as your work produced a harvest that helped you grow as a person.
Remember the time of day, where you were, and how that impacted your experience and your choices moving forward. Remember how it felt, how the weather was during that season, the landscape, go back to that memory in full color! This is just a small exercise, but DON’T SKIP IT.
Overcoming Obstacles:
If you can’t think of any time you had a good experience with growing money, think about a story or movie you’ve seen that had a positive experience with growing money in a healthy way. Find a story that you know deeply and connect with where the hard work DID pay off in the end - spoiler alert - because it does!
Mindfulness Meditation 2:
Next, we are going to DREAM BIG! What would you do if you knew that TIME & MONEY weren’t limiting factors? Where would you go? Whom would you help? What kinds of things would you create, or build, or what problems would you solve?
Action Steps:
1) Download the FREE Google Sheet App. It’s the online version of Excel. It helps if you have a Gmail account for email, too. If you are new to Google Sheets, HERE is a written explanation that will help. If you prefer a You-Tube Video, check this out HERE. You will need this later when you open your Tracking is the Key sheet. You can use either Excel or convert it to Google Sheets. We recommend Google Sheets for ease of use on your phone.
2) Create a space in your home to do the physical and emotional work involved in this Financial Self-Care journey.
This could be a home office or a nook in your living room with a comfy chair. Wherever you can find a peaceful spot, you can create Sacred Space for this journey of Financial Self-Care.
